About Me
My name is John Slater and i'm a website designer, and i also develop (kinda) I have been an active part of the internet for several years and it has something that really grabbed my attention at a young age, shortly after i began "interneting" i decided to have a bash at Web Design creating a website called Proper D'oh which was a fan site to The Simpsons. Over the years i developed my knowledge of Web Design (slowly) by creating websites ranging from fan sites to full on web services, some of the websites i have created are....
Proper D'oh
A fan site dedicated to The Simpsons with self-traced images from the show, episode screenshots and games. I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people during the time it was alive (2003-2005) and although it's not something all children do in their spare time i'm glad i made the choice to become a geek.
PD Downloads
A large community of The Simpsons fans all coming together to share views on the show and episodes (i know it's illegal, i was young and dumb) - the forum later turned into a forum of pretty much every TV show you can think of before we hit a snag with Web Server hosting which led to it going offline. For good.
Little Britain Online
The LARGEST Little Britain fan site on the net is something to boast, with information about everything and screenshots of every episode it was no doubt the most information packed. The website was later recognised by the BBC who were kind enough to send me preview DVD's before the show even aired as well as a whole host of swag. The website was later sold to someone who could keep it more updated than i could (i was doing my GCSEs).
PSP Desktops
My first development experiment really which is why it is still online. It simply has thousands of PSP backgrounds for download, but the good stuff happens back stage. All very nerdy though so i wont bore you.
Feed Mailer
My first HUGE project was partnered with Chris Richardson who developed the system, the service was massive serving over 1 million e-mails every single day. … I have had the pleasure of working on many projects in my short life and i intend to use my idea producing brain to develop more until i'm rich.
Slater John
In early 2007 i started a small project to develop my PHP skills called slater.john, this was my testing group for new PHP skills and was titled as a work in-progress throughout its life. The website was developed from the ground up with a custom content management system and had some of my blog posts from The John Slater along with many new reviews and rants.
My Blog
In mid-2009 i decided to scrap the old website and focus my efforts on the blog and trying to get the best content management system i could. So in August i began planning a brand new content management system that was built stronger and built with "moving" in mind. This launched in September 2009 and is what you see before you now.
