Podcasting #1: RSS and Podcasting Introduction

Many of you may have heard of podcasting, for those who haven't Podcasting is like a radio show, a radio show that you can listen to on demand. Podcasting has since expanded and now covers video podcasting and textual podcasting.

Podcasting is a great way to get your content across to visitors of your site, even more so if you are publishing long articles. Podcasts are also brilliant ways to change your content, maybe people get fed up with only hearing your opinion on subjects, with some podcasting software it's possible to bring in lots of people all of which can share their opinion and this will make your podcast less bias.

Podcasts are great ways to stay in touch, if you have the time and will to create a podcast for your blog then its certainly worth doing, you will be able to bring even people who wouldn't normally READ you blog to your site and because there are so many podcast specific sites out there you will get more exposure than normal.

Its very important to create a podcast feed before you launch your podcast, from experience in the past I have creating a brand new feed using my template and recorded a demo podcast which basically lets readers understand the podcast before you start launching, it also means you can get people to participate before you launch the first podcast.

In my upcoming articles I will take you through the basics, then the advanced stuff that will make your podcast user friendly and certainly worth the time you put into it. Plus after all of that I may even teach you how to create a 1 hour podcast in 10mins, this and all the secrets will be revealed later.
