In March 2010 i received an email from V Festival who didn't want me to carry on development of an iPhone app i had been working on, in these emails legal action was mentioned in an effort to scare me, this is my story.
I personally don't think it is an unfair assumption to believe that most big corporations use questionable methods to make the little people, who threaten their profits, go away. Methods that i'm sure everyone back in reality would see as bullying, a way of throwing around their "big boy" name to make you stop what you're doing.
You would have to do something rather special to get yourself into a position where a big company would want to stop you from doing something they thought could damage them financially, something quite sizeable to even be noticed by these people.
Apparently i've managed to get myself into a real pickle of a situation with Virgin Media because of an iPhone app i created called iFestApp something that, at the time, seemed innocent enough but apparently threatened a few pennies in V Festivals pocket.
So let me tell a little story about a nice young developer who just wanted to share his love for a music festival with like-minded people through the "geeky" means of iPhone App Development.

My third and final blog post about the iFestApp is here, the one i was looking forward to, the one i wasn't expecting after the hassle i've had over the last few weeks.
I'm happy to announce that the iFestival App for iPhone and iPod Touch is now available for download in the iTunes App Store on your iPhone, iPod or Computer. The app brings V Festival to your pocket with lineup details, artists information, artist galleries, news and Twitter feeds from fans, artists, iFestApp and V Festival.
The app of course is unofficial but that doesn't make it any less useful for anyone attending the festival at Weston Park and Hyland Park in August of this year.
Please download, rate and review and also send your feedback to iFestApp at hello@ifestapp.com
Don't forget to join iFestApp on Facebook and Twitter to find out all the latest news and announcements and also keep your apps up to date for the latest information.

Just a quick post on daylight savings Sunday (a new holiday i made up) to tell you about the super swanky website for the upcoming iFestival App (iFestApp) for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The iFest app is an unofficial V Festival application for people who want information on their phone about V Festival and everything going on at V.
Signup to the newsletter and get told when the application is available to buy or follow @iFestApp on Twitter or fan-it-up at Facebook.
Stay Tuned!

I have had some queries via e-mail and Twitter about the iPhone app currently under development, i thought i would provide some further information to keep you guys updated.
The application will officially be called iFestApp (Festival App) and will be on sale for 59p in the iTunes app store when complete. The app will provide information on artists playing at V Festival, the stages they play on and links to their Twitter/Facebook/Websites, it will also provide the latest news and rumours about V Festival along with Twitter updates split into 3 categories, Official V Festival tweets, Artist Tweets and your tweets.
The application is being worked on and development updates can be found on Twitter at @iFestApp and you can signup for updates via e-mail on the iFestApp website.

Well the V Festival 2010 lineup has been started off, Virgin Media have announced the first set of bands destined to play the awesome festival in summer 2010 including the headlining bands.
The bands so far are…

- The Courteeners
- Passion Pit
Weston Saturday/Hyland Sunday

- Faithless
- The Kooks
- Paolo Nutini
- Madness
- Skunk Anansie
- Pixie Lott

I thought it would be super-chill of me to go ahead and just make some straight-up educated guesses to who will be playing V Festival 2010 at Weston Park and Highland Park. That way when the time comes (March) and the bands are announced i can look like some sort of mystic type, like mystic meg.
Possible Headliners
So i have a few guesses to who will be headlining V festival in 2010 so i thought i would just explain them a little better, i may not agree with them, but it's a guess not an opinion.
Muse
They have luckily had one of the most over-rated albums of 2009 and there new material is of questionable awesomeness.
Kasabian
They had a major release last year and were not luckily enough to get invited to V Festival so my guess is this year they may pull it out of the bag.
Kings Of Leon
They had a great year last year with songs like "Use Somebody" and "Sex On Fire" and both songs were lucky enough to be played constantly on the radio and then when they appeared to be going away they were reinserted into the UK charts again.
I'm sure you will agree the bands are much headliner material, i could name 3 bands i would love to headline but like i say, i'm using my education to guess and not my opinions.

Earlier this month i made a new blog post about my V Festival videos on YouTube and promised i would post the rest as and when i got round to editing them and uploading them.
I never did get the time to edit the videos so i decided to simply stick a label on the front and upload to YouTube. These videos are of Razorlight, The Wombats and some random trip i went on while recording, the videos are also a little incomplete because i think i MAY have started recording half way through the song.

Over the last few weeks i have been posting my review of V Festival 2009, which just happened to be the best weekend of my life. I have also posted reams of pictures onto Facebook and some of the pictures on the site but i have yet to even discuss the video footage i captured while at the event.
While at the event i captured some video from only a selection of bands i saw because i was saving the memory for The Killers, which also happened to be the band i got the least footage of (i was drunk and too busy screaming and dancing).

Well day one was a very good start to V Festival with Keane playing us out with a selection of their amazing songs and epic dance moves that consisted mainly of marching on the spot, running up and down the stage and standing on the speakers, nevertheless it was a brilliant day.
On Sunday we were faced with a brilliant lineup made up of some of the bigger names in the festival such as The Script, Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal, The Ting Tings, Razorlight, Calvin Harris and obviously The Killers headlining. So it was a difficult choice choosing which bands we went to see on the day, choices which seemed hard during the planning stage but on the day not so much.

Well it's been a week since V Festival 2009 kicked off so i thought i would post a list of the bands i ended up seeing and what i though of them.
Friday
Well the only thing that happened on Friday was were constructed a tent and carried too much food and beer across a field for about 1 mile. After that we started drinking (11am) and went into the arena for some looking around.
In here we met a new friend (pictured above) who told us all about his wacky job securing V Festival and how his job consists of a 20 hour shift stood in the same place making sure people don't get over a 20ft fence and run towards an empty stage. Which also had security. Odd. The guy was awesome though and despite his gangster watch he looks rather sophisticated.

Just a quick blog post before i go, i have created a V Festival 2009 clashfinder, it is basically a timetable that allows you to see when bands are on (estimated times) and see whether or not there is a clash between the bands you want to see.
I used this clashfinder from eFestivals Forum for the times and sexed it up a little with my l33t photoshoping skills.
I left out the B Live tent and Strongbow tent because, well, frankly i have heard of none of the bands and didn't want to spend too much time replicating something someone else made.

I thought i would take this time to update and let all (one) of you know that in less than 30 days V festival 2009 will commence with such legends as The Killers, Oasis, Snow Patrol and Keane - what's better is that I will be one of the thousands of people attending. It will be epic!
I have already started planning who shall have the pleasure of looking down on me as a observe the smash-tastic music and with new bands being announced over the next few weeks approaching V Festival it just makes my life harder in the choosing of who i go to see.
However with that said my focus will be on The Killers who are headlining Weston Park on Sunday, and furthermore the legends of British music Oasis who will be headlining my first day at Weston Park (Saturday). So despite a large portion of my day being me getting extremely drunk wandering for hours listening to random bands along my way, i certainly hope that my day/night ends with me listening to The Killers or Oasis.
